I think there are several similarities between Yoda and Stephen Downes. It could be the hair. It could be the amount of influence. It could be how many people look to them for wisdom and insight. It could be that he's just been around that long. Either way, I thought it would be entertaining to draw Stephen Downes as Yoda. When asked when the rest of the cast might be, I responded with a hearty "I don't know." If you have some suggestions, I'd consider drawing them. Jim Groom might be next as Qui-Gon Jin, and for some reason James Paul Gee makes me think of Ki-Adi-Mundi.

Now, along with this whole Star Wars theme comes something I've been thinking about for a while. There's that one phrase that just never seemed quite right to me, "May the force be with you." Put bluntly, the force doesn't choose to be for or against a character. So here are a few variations, since "may you be with the force" doesn't work so well.
May the force guide you.
May the force smack you upside the head when you don't listen.
Okay, maybe I'll stick to the first one. It works. While some may wonder why I am posting this, I think I'll try to answer. It's not like you're likely to wonder about this later, and if you do I wonder about you.
So, the idea is that there are good and bad ways to get things done, kinda like the light and dark side of duct tape, err ... the force. The good ways are better because they will normally work well for a longer time, and have lower odds of backfiring. Maybe it really is duct tape... Either way, sticking to the ... working through the difficulties that come doing things the right way should be better in the end for you and others. Be it game designing, educational efforts or almost anything else, selling out and cutting corners just to make your work or life easier isn't as worthwhile in the end.
Have fun, spread the word and tell me what you think,
Igen Oukan

wonderful. with all respect to Stephen Downes, who I find so thought provoking, this does make me laugh, but in a nice way. may the force be with you.
Does that make George Bush Jar Jar?
I think it's more about how well Stephen can jump around while wielding a light saber...
